How it all began for us

We, a family from Düsseldorf who has been living in Zurich for years, met the 14th Dalai Lama (photo on the left) in 2010 – quite by chance.
This prompted us to visit our two Tibetan godchildren, who live in exile in India. There we learned that one of our godchildren would be entering Drepung Monastery as a monk. During our next visit to the monastery, we met Geshe Lobsang, our godchild's mentor and teacher (photo center).

Geshe Lobsang falls ill

A year and seven months ago, Geshe Lobsang's kidneys began to fail, making dialysis necessary. Since then, we have been supporting him as best we can with medication.
At the beginning of September 2025, we received his call for help, informing us that his kidneys had now completely failed and that a transplant was necessary. He asked us for financial support for such a transplant.

The idea of a fundraising

We immediately got together with a family friend and a relative of our godchild (see picture on the right) to organize a fundraising campaign. Voilà!
