About Geshe Lobsang
Geshe Lobsang Thapgyal (photo from 2024) was born in Tibet in 1969, fled to India in 1989, and has been living in Tibetan exile at Drepung Loseling Monastery in southern India since then.
He is not only a monk, but also a highly learned scholar. He holds a Geshe diploma, which is equivalent to a doctorate in Buddhist philosophy.
Our family has known and appreciated him for many years as a loving mentor and teacher to our sponsored child, whom we have been supporting for almost 25 years.
The kidney transplant
The kidney transplant will take place in a certified clinic in India.
The cost of the transplant is 30 lakh rupees (approx. EUR 30,000), which also includes urgent follow-up care in the first year after the transplant, which is almost as expensive as the procedure itself (a comparable procedure costs around twice as much in Europe) .
The probability of the transplant being successful is estimated at > 95%; the search for a suitable donor is already underway (see video below).
Your help is 100%
We guarantee that 100% of your donation (without deductions) will be used for Geshe Lobsang's kidney transplant.
If, contrary to expectations, the amount collected exceeds the amount required, we will donate the surplus in full to Drepung Loseling Monastery for other emergencies.
Every amount counts and helps Geshe Lobsang and thus all Tibetans!
Unfortunately, as private individuals, we are not in a position to issue donation receipts.
But what is a tax deduction compared to better karma?
